What the hell is going on?

Q: Why "The Pinch"
A: Because we aim to wake you from your slumber of listening to mediocre, mass-produced music. If you really want to get into it, check out the manifesto.

Q: I can't listen to anything!
A: Not really a question, but here's the deal. The Pinch is available as mp3, either streaming, or for download. The streaming has been tested on Winamp, iTunes, and Windows Media Player. These all work, with the caveat that only winamp will allow you to skip ahead in the show. For that reason among others, we recommend Winamp for all your media playing needs. To download, you may have to right click (or whatever you do an a mac) and select "Save Target As" to avoid opening it within the browser or with a plugin.

Q: Now I can listen, but the volume is low.
A: Mastering music is a hard job. Mastering 4 hours of music and talking is almost impossible to do and coincide with a reasonable release schedule and a day job. We strive to always deliver quality audio, and the best way for us to do that is to deliver it a little quiet. All shows have been tested in different setups to make sure they are audible. If you can't hear something, let me know at alex@apov.org

Q: How do I view the pictures?
A: Our picture galleries run as a flash application. You will need to install Macromedia Flash to view them.

Q: What runs the site?
A: We run the Pinch website on a server running Fedora Linux, Apache, PHP, and MySQL. Just goes to show you that free software is better than most that you have to pay for. It is on bandwidth graciously provided by Blastro.com. Check out the site if you ever have the hankerin' for some video with your music.

Q: Your website doesn't look right.
A: Browser compatibility is as much magic as it is technique, and I don't have much of either. I try to optimize the site for viewing in Mozilla Firefox and Opera at at least 1024 x 768. I know most of you probably use IE, but please don't. It's a blight on the face of the Internet. If you don't believe me, ask this guy. If you have any problems besides that, please let me know.
